BLOG FLOG 30 - LZOC NATIONALS, LEHIGH CONCOURS and PASSION TO PERFECTION
Just returned from Stratton Mountain, VT and Lincoln Zephyr Owners Club National event. Nice people, great cars. Once I got my trailer up the mountain (ugh) the setting was nice, once the fog cleared away on Friday morning for the show. Perhaps 75 Lincolns on display of all shapes and sizes. I was nicely received with my blue '39 Convertible despite the fact it was not an original Lincoln. They also had the new Zephyr on display there from Lincoln division.
Attended the Burn Foundation Eastern Concours at Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA. A nice event, nice venue, nice weather and nice people. I plan to make that an annual gig since it is less than one and a half hours from my home.
Highlight of the event for me was meeting a 15 year old young man named Bryan or Kevin (wish I had got his name and e-mail address) who was totally hip to French coach builders of the late 30's and passionate about great classic car styling. He read Richard Adatto's FROM PASSION TO PERFECTION book which is in my mind the best thing out there dealing with French streamliners of the 30's.
Off to Detroit and Texas this weekend for a trip that could have a profound positive impact on the rest of my life. Stay Tuned.
